False alarm: Blackhawk Fire responds to call of body in Rock River, no body found

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — The Blackhawk Fire Protection District says a log with a vest attached to it prompted a report of a body in the Rock River Tuesday morning.

Blackhawk Fire says they received the call around 8:30 a.m. from a location on Beltline Road.

The call turned out to be a false alarm. Fire officials confirmed that the object found in the river was only a log.
