Chairman Frank Haney wins right to personal legal representation

Local News

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A Winnebago County Judge has allowed Winnebago County Board Chairman Frank Haney to bring in a personal lawyer to represent him in County business.

Haney had threatened to sue the County over the issue.

Haney said he believes Winnebago County State’s Attorney Marilyn Hite Ross has a conflict of interest, saying that since she represents board members, she can’t represent him as well.

Haney says the County Board has diminished his powers and violated his rights, and says the Board is working against voters who elected him into office.
