BELVIDERE, Ill. (WTVO) — Back by popular demand! Christmas Town is coming back to Summerfield Zoo this winter.

Summerfield Zoo, located at 3088 Flora Road in Belvidere, will be open during the Christmas holiday, which will include a special viewing of Santa’s reindeer, with Santa Claus himself in attendance on specific days.

“We are so excited to invite everyone back to Christmas Town at Summerfield Zoo!   For our second year we are expanding our lights and decorations.  Visitors will be able to enter our magical reindeer barn to meet all of Santa’s sleigh team of reindeer.  During your tour of the reindeer barn, you will get to pet and take pictures with Santa’s reindeer.  These are truly amazing animals that provide not only a magical, but an educational experience for kids and adults of all ages!” says Rick Anderson, owner at Summerfield Zoo

Children will be able to earn an official stable elf diploma for attending. Mrs. Claus will have a Kitchen Snack Shop in operation, while the Flying Reindeer Gift Shop will offer jams, jellies, chocolates, and Christmas decor.

Admission is $10 per person.  Open Fridays through Sundays November 15 – December 22.   Fridays 3 pm to 7 pm.  Saturdays 10 am to 6 pm.  Sundays 10 am to 6 pm.  December 23 10 am to 4 pm. Christmas Eve 9 am to 1 pm.  

Reservations for reindeer barn will be encouraged.  Group Tours and field trips available by appointment.  Private family Christmas card portraits available by appointment.  The elves’ party room will be available by reservation.
