ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — The City of Rockford announced Friday that it had extended the deadline for proposals for a new casino to Friday, August 30th at 2 p.m.
August 16th was the originally announced deadline.
The City said the reason for the extension was that the original deadline only gave interested parties 44 days to complete their proposals. The new deadline allows 58 days.
The applications need to be reviewed and certified before being filed with the Illinois Gaming Board by the end of October.
