ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — ComEd is working to do their part to make sure residents can stay cool in the record breaking heat.
The company has set up a cooling bus that will help get anyone in need out of the heat. The bus will also be stocked with water bottles.
ComEd’s External Affairs Manager George Gaulrapp is planning for the biggest concern for residents: their power going out during the high temperatures outside.
“Our concerns are that as people come home from work this evening and start flipping the switch on the air conditioner. It’s going to tax our system,” Gaulrapp said. “We’ll see how our system holds up. We’re confident that it will, but just in case it doesn’t, and that we have outages, we have some place for people to go.”
The bus is located at The Meadowmart Shopping Center on North Second in Loves Park, and will stay open until seven p.m.
