‘Community Kid Zone’ promises summer fun for Rockford kids

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — The Rockford Police Department hopes to make sure children have something to do while school is out for the summer, by hosting another “Community Kids Zone” at East High School.

Kids between the ages of 9 and 17 can participate by taking part in cooking classes, or games of volleyball and basketball.

The program runs June 24th through July 12th from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at East High School, 2929 Charles Street and admission is free.

Ages 9-12 are welcome Mondays and Wednesdays. Ages 13-17 are welcome Tuesday and Thursdays.
