Woman dies after getting hit by car near busy Rockford intersection

UPDATE: Rockford Police confirmed a 44 year-old woman died while crossing Alpine Road.

Investigators say she was struck by a minivan headed north around 9:40am Thursday. The driver stopped and remained on the scene.

Police are reconstructing the accident. Alpine Road between Highcrest and Pinecrest will be shut down for the next several hours.


UPDATE: Rockford Police say the person hit by a car this morning has died.

We don’t know yet if the car stayed on scene. Police are still there investigating.

A crash has shut down North Alpine between Highcrest and Pinecrest.
