Crews searching for Rockford man who fell into the Mississippi River

Hampton, Ill. (WHBF) – Crews are in search of a 35-year-old man who fell in the Mississippi River near Lock and Dam 14 around 4:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Authorities say the man is from Rockford.

Police responded to a call that said a man was fishing with his family at a popular Hampton fishing spot called “Fisherman’s Corner” when he fell off the rocks and into the river.

Rock Island County, Silvis, and Hampton crews are performing the search.
