DEKALB, Ill. (WTVO) — 26-year-old Brenton Strobert, a convicted sex offender, was arrested again on Wednesday for possessing child pornography.

DeKalb Police say they served a warrant at Strobert’s apartment, in the 1100 block of W. Lincoln Highway, at 8:37 a.m.

Police were sent there after the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children received a report about child pornography being present at the residence.

During the search, police say they found numerous images of child pornography, and also “suspicious materials” that resulted in the Kane County Bomb Squad, FBI and Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms Agency (ATF) responding to the home.

Officials deemed the materials safe to handle and transported them away from the property to be destroyed.

Strobert was charged with ten counts of Child Pornography and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.

Strobert was arrested when he was 20 for possessing child pornography and is listed as a Sexual Predator on the Illinois Sex Offender Registry.
