FAA issues warning to pilots, airlines about wireless service

Local News

WASHINGTON D.C. (WTVO) — The FAA is expected to warn airlines and pilots that upcoming 5G wireless service may disrupt cockpit safety programs.

The Wall Street Journal reported: “The FAA plans to say, the ground towers may impact some automated features that help pilots fly and land plans.”

Personal cellphones are not an issue.

The FCC and the telecommunications industry insisted that current evidence does not support the FAA’s concerns.
