ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Two adults and six children were able to safely evacuate during a house fire on North Court Street on Monday.
A neighbor called 911 around 3:45 p.m. and responding firefighters found heavy smoke coming from one side of the home.
Officials believe the fire, while accidental in nature, started in the kitchen.
The American Red Cross is assisting the family, authorities said.
