Filling the truck for the Stateline’s furriest residents

ROCKFORD (WTVO) – A local business is collecting donations for the Stateline’s furriest residents.

Adoptable pets also dressed in their holiday best as XPO Logistics filled the truck hoping to help out local animal shelters.

Parking the truck at the Home Depot on Perryville, volunteers collected food, toys, blankets and anything that would make a shelter pet’s life better while they’re waiting to be adopted.

A Fill the Truck Semi Drive organizer says pets can often suffer the consequences of the holiday season’s high cost.

“During this time of year some people are going through struggles and so the shelters and the organizations behind us, they help all those people that are in need because unfortunately a lot of time the pets are the first ones that suffer the short comings.”, XPO Logistics’ Don Rolon said.

This year’s Fill the Truck Semi Drive was the most the organization has ever collected.
