Freeport Police investigate shots fired incident

FREEPORT, Ill. (WTVO) — The Freeport Police are investigating after someone fired several shots in a busy neighborhood.

Police were called to the area of South Carroll and South Adams Avenue Monday night.

Officers found empty cartridge casings on South Carroll.

A witness told police they heard squealing tires followed by gunshots.

That witness also reported seeing a white car being chased by a silver vehicle in the same area.

There is no suspect information at this time.

No one was hurt and nothing was struck in the incident.
