FREEPORT, Ill. (WTVO) — Freeport City Council is set to vote on a proposed 1% sales tax increase Monday night.
The increase of the “Home Rule Sales Tax” would be used to fund road projects in the city. Revenue from the proposed increase is estimated at $3.5 million per year.
The meeting starts at 6 p.m.
