(ROCKFORD, Ill.) – Another year of 815 Day means another year of celebrations. Check out how organizations are celebrating Rockford today:
Rockford Day Kickoff Parking Lot Party will have live music, complimentary breakfast treats from a local bakery, and a press conference with Mayor McNamara. The kickoff starts at 8:15 a.m. in the parking lot of Culture Shock.
Swedish Historical Society is celebrating Rockford’s culture with a traditional Swedish fika and a live Skype call from Sweden. It’s at the Nordic Cultural Center from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Transform Rockford wants people to share their Rockford pride. Volunteers will be in the alley next to Wired Café (414 E. State Street) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with giveaways asking residents why they love Rockford. One lucky person will get $100 to spend anywhere in the 815.
Summer at Davis Park continues tonight with performances from Los Arenales and DJ Cachorro. The event runs from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Davis Park.
Snoop Dogg is also giving a special performance to end the night. The concert is at Rivets Stadium starting at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $49.
