BELOIT, Wis. (WTVO) — A 26-year-old Janesville man is in custody after crashing into a residence and two vehicles while driving in the 1700 block of St. Lawrence Avenue.
Officials reported that the incident took place Sunday morning at 3:52 a.m.
When authorities arrived on scene the suspect’s vehicle reversed from the fence/patio area and almost struck a patrol car before taking off.
Beloit Police attempted to stop the vehicle but it had fled from officers at that time, officers continued to follow the vehicle for two blocks before the pursuit was called off.
According to officials about 30-40 seconds later the vehicle stopped gain and began driving erratically, swerving all over the road.
Officers had then set up stop sticks near Newark and McKinley roads to attempt to safely pull over the suspect again.
Authorities said after the suspect hit the stop sticks, the suspect again stopped for a moment but then fled onto Alton Road at speeds that reached 100 mph.
The Rock County Sheriff’s Office set up a second set of stop sticks as the suspect had been in route to Janesville.
Thomas D. Weidner, was arrested in the 500 block of S Washington St. with the help of Rock County Sheriff’s Office K9 and a taser deployment after he attempted to flee on foot.
Weidner was arrested his second offense of operating while intoxicated, hit and run to property, hit and run to unattended vehicle, operating while suspended and felony fleeing.
