Hoo Haven wildlife shelter welcomes new eagle owlet

DURAND, Ill. (WTVO) — The Hoo Haven Wildlife Rehabilitation & Education Center announced the arrival of a new Eurasian Eagle Owlet named “Denver.”

The public is invited to meet the owlet in person on Saturday, June 29th from noon to 3 p.m. at 10823 Cleveland Road in Durand.

Hoo Haven says the species of owl is not native to North America and can only be viewed in zoos and special exhibits.

The Eurasian Eagle Owl is known for its various hoots, chirps, clucks, and low-pitch hoot that can be heard 2.5 miles away.
