Kick in for Cancer raises money for cancer patients and their families

Local News

ROCKFORD (WTVO) – Rockford group is doing their part to help patients fighting cancer, and their families.

Kick In For Cancer held their 21st fundraising event Sunday afternoon.

They had blow up slides, a dunk tank, and a raffle stocked with goodies all to raise money to fight the illness.

The kicker that separates Kick In For Cancer from other fund raising organizations is where the money raised goes.

Most charities funnel funds into cancer research, but Kick In gives their money raised directly to people fighting and their families.

“So whether it be beds, or hospital rooms they furnished refrigerators, and put TVs in and sleeping chairs and just different things to help the room be comfortable for that particular family and their patient”, Kick in for Cancer Secretary, Norma Coffman said.

The money also stays local, as all of those families helped by the organization are right here in the Forest City.
