Kishwaukee Elementary bricks now available

Local News

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Demolition crews began knocking down the old Kishwaukee Elementary School Wednesday morning.

Bricks from the demo are now available to the public.

A limited number of the bricks are in a pile outside the construction fence at the intersection of Union and Third Streets.

They are first come, first served.

The school has been vacant since the end of the 2018-2019 school year.

Students will attend the new Constance Lane Elementary School, which will open this fall.

The 86,000 square-foot, $17.7M school is replacing Kishwaukee, Nelson and Beyer elementary schools.
