Local plumbers union offers look into apprenticeship program at open house

Local News

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Not everyone’s path after high school includes a stop in college.

There are careers across the country, and in Rockford, that may not require a degree, but can get people into the workforce quickly.

As part of National Apprenticeship Week, Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 23 held an open house Thursday at their training facility, at 4525 Boeing Drive, to offer a look at the steps necessary to become an apprentice.

The open house runs until 9 p.m. on Thursday.
