ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang-up call to the 1400 block of Andrews Street on Friday, September 6, just before 2:00 a.m.

Officers learned a 50-year-old woman and 25-year-old Aubrey Sikes, who share a domestic relationship, had gotten into an argument.

Sikes is accused of grabbing a knife and stabbing the woman once in her stomach.

The woman was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay.

Sikes originally ran away from the house but returned and was taken into custody.

The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office reviewed the case and authorized the following charge: Aubrey Sikes, 25, Rockford: Aggravated Battery with a Knife
