ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Marijuana was a topic of conversation at a local counseling and recovery center this evening.
Restore Counseling and Recovery hosted the event.
Clinicians presented workshops on topics that are being talked about in the community, like marijuana and social media.
Community members learned about the facts and fictions of both and had the chance to ask questions.
Those that were behind the evening said that’s key to advancement of the conversation.
“Talks like this provide education. They provide dialogue. Dialogue raises up central issues,” said Restore Counseling & Recovery owner, Thomas Mlodzik. “It allows us, as clinicians, as legislators, better topics, better focuses that improve our community and aid people in having better lives.”
Wednesday evening’s workshops were part of a grand re-opening for the center.
