MENDOTA (WTVO) – One of Illinois’ striking teacher’s unions, weekend negotiations didn’t end well.
The Mendota strike talks ended with one party walking out Saturday afternoon. The Mendota Education Association and District 289 Board of Education began negotiations at 10 Saturday morning.
Hours before coming to an agreement, the Board of Education abruptly left the meeting and canceled the rest of this weekend’s negotiations.
The second session was supposed to happen Sunday at 1pm. No word yet on when talks will resume.
