Midway Village Museum is celebrating Halloween early

ROCKFORD (WTVO) – Midway Village is celebrating Halloween early.

Kids dressed as unicorns, firemen, princesses, and even a T-Rex walked the museum grounds at the annual All Hallows Eve event. Trick or Treaters filled candy bags and knocked on dozens of doors, decked out in the Halloween spirit.

All twenty-four of the cabins were home for various local businesses with each getting free reign on the decorations.

Midway Village’s ‘All Hallows Eve’ has been going on for three and a half decades; and organizers say the idea behind the first trick or treating event was to put the museum on the peoples radar.

Lonna Converso, Director of Marketing and Social Media at Midway Village Museum said, “It’s the first one that the Board of Directors thought about to really bring people into the museum and the grounds to realize that this is your history museum and really provoke curiosity about what we do here.”

Midway Village is also hosting another Halloween event Sunday, the ‘Trick-Or-Trot’ Fun Run and showing up in costume is encouraged.
