Pink Heals brings their bright pink fire truck and message of hope to Freeport

Local News

FREEPORT (WTVO) – Freeport got a visit from a special group of volunteer fire fighters.

The Pink Heals’ bright pink fire truck rolled into town, posting up at Union Dairy Saturday morning. Pink Heals is an organization that drives to different cities and towns lifting spirits of people fighting cancer or other life threatening illnesses. The organization started over 10 years ago, originally aimed at women and children but has since spread to include men as well. The truck brought with it vendors, therapy dogs, wellness booths, but the most important message the truck brings is something you can’t see.

“[Our purpose] is to spread love, give hope to what they’re going through. We know they’re fighting for their lives. A lot of these women we see and this just gives them a reason to keep on fighting. And that’s why we do this”, said Brian Tribley, President of the Pink Heals of Sauk Valley Chapter.

The signatures covering the bright pink fire truck are from all the people here in Illinois and across the country Pink Heals has visited.
