WHEELING, Ill. (WTVO) —An Illinois airport was forced to close on Monday after a plane slid off the runway.
It happened around 1 p.m. at Wheeling’s Chicago Executive Airport, according to WBBM. A Gulfstream G100 ran off of the runway and into the grass.
Crews were forced to close the airport for about three hours until the aircraft could be removed.
