Police are looking for two suspects involved in an attempted robbery

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police Patrol Officers were dispatched to Marathon Gas Station, at 3299 South Alpine Road, Monday around 2:30 a.m. for an attempted robbery call.

According to authorities, two male suspects attempted to purchase cigarettes while doing so one male suspect tried pushing open the plexi-glass that separated him from the clerk. He was unsuccessful.

The suspects fled the store, and no one was hurt.

The suspects are described as black males wearing black pants and black, white and red hooded sweatshirts. The suspects also had their faces partially covered and were wearing gloves, police said.

Rockford Police ask that anyone with information regarding the incident to contact them at 815-966-2900, or leave an anonymous tip with the Rockford Area Crime Stoppers at 815-963-7857.
