Rebuild Illinois includes $275 million for Rockford to Chicago passenger rail

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WTVO) — In addition to reinvesting funding toward roads and bridges statewide, the recently passed Rebuild Illinois funding package includes money earmarked to bring passenger rail service between Rockford and Chicago.

The bill includes $275 to re-stablish passenger rail service between Rockford and Chicago, with stops in Chicago, Elgin, Huntley, Belvidere, and Rockford.
