ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rick Jenks, who has served as Interim Chief of Police for Rock Valley College since June, was sworn in during a ceremony Monday afternoon.
Jenks has been with the department since 1999.
During his time at RVC, Jenks has received several promotions and says he’s ready for the new challenge.
“It’s a nice progression, to finally be in the position of Chief of Police,” Jenks said. “I hope, moving forward, that I can continue the long tradition we have here at Rock Valley College, of providing a safe and welcoming environment to all the students, staff and visitors.”
Chief Jenks replaces Chief Joe Drought, who retired this summer after 23 years with the school.
