Rockford man arrested after robbing Chase Bank

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A Rockford man is convicted of aggravated bank robbery.

A jury found 34-year-old Edward Everett Johnson guilty of robbing Chase Bank on Harrison Avenue in April of 2016.

Johnson went into the bank, pulled out a gun and demanded money. Then, he took off in a cab.

He was later arrested in Maryland.

Johnson faces up to 25 years in jail.

He’ll be sentenced September 9th.
