Rockford man arrested on stolen handgun, drug charges

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — 35-year-old Quantrell Starks was arrested by Rockford Police early Monday morning after police say they found a stolen handgun and drugs in his vehicle.

Police say they were called to the scene of a house party in the 900 block of School Street shortly before 1 a.m. Monday morning, and found a vehicle with a handgun inside.

Officers took Starks, the driver, into custody and found Ecstasy pills and a small amount of cannabis in his possession.

Starks, a known felon, was charged with Unlawful Use of Weapons by a Felon, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

He was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail.
