MADISON, Wis. (WTVO) — 37-year-old Matthew Slaughter was sentenced Thursday, July 18th to 10 years in prison for possession of child pornography.

The sentence will run consecutively with an 8 year sentence Slaughter was already serving, after being convicted of repeated sexual assault of a child in 2002.

Authorities said Slaughter possessed a cell phone which contained “visual depictions of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct” one of which was younger than 12-years-old.

The charge against Slaughter was the result of a joint investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Noblesville, Indiana Police Department.
