Rockford PD asks residents to remember Ofc. Jaimie Cox with blue light bulbs

Local News

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — The Rockford Police Department is asking residents to use blue light bulbs in their porch lights, through November 8th, to remember fallen Officer Jaimie Cox.

November 5th marks two years since Cox died.

He was killed in 2017 when he pulled over Eddie Patterson for a traffic stop. Both men died in the incident.

The Jaimie Cox Foundation’s “Drive for the Troops” event begins today, and accepts monetary donations to send care packages to active military overseas.
