Rockford Police officer arrested for domestic battery

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A Rockford Police Officer has been placed on administrative leave following an arrest for Domestic Battery.

Charges were filed against Officer Sisomphou Singmaouanthong on July 11th in Winnebago County Court.

Singmaouanthong pleaded not guilty on September 7th, and was bailed out of jail on Monday. He is due back in court on September 16th.

Singmaouanthong cannot contact the victim, and he must surrender all firearms.

The Rockford Police Department employee was honored by the department in 2019 for saving a person’s life after performing CPR.
