ROCKFORD (WTVO) – Rockford’s Salvation Army Store has opened it’s doors on a new side of town.
The family store is now open for business on Rockford’s Magnificient Mile, at 4050 E. State St. The former location on Charles Street, ran out of a 75 year old building and store leaders say they have been planning to move to a newer facility for a while now. This move will help the Salvation Army fulfill their mission with its adult rehabilitation center.
“We have the adult rehabilitation center down on 18th Avenue. The stores is our only resource. That’s the purpose of our stores, they support that program to help men who are living a life of addiction and gives them an opportunity to change their lives mentally, physically and spiritually.”, Salvation Army’s Administrator, Paul Bowyer said.
The move allowed the Salvation Army to hire even more employees to help manage the bigger space.
