SPRING TOWNSHIP, Ill. (WTVO) — A semi-truck and a Chrysler 200 collided Wednesday morning on Genoa Road and Reeds Crossing, southeast of Belvidere.
According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, a Freightliner semi, driven by a 30-year-old man, was traveling south on Genoa Road when it attempted to pass a stopped garbage truck and collided with the Chrysler, which was headed northbound.

The 16-year-old driver of the Chrysler was flown to UW Health in Madison, Wisconsin.
A passenger in the Freightliner was taken to St. Anthony in Rockford.
The driver of the Freightliner was uninjured.
Police did not give an update on the conditions of those injured. The Boone County Sheriff’s Office and the Illinois State Police are investigating the crash.
No charges have been issued at this time.
