ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — September 7th is National Beer Lovers Day, and what better way for residents to have celebrated then by attending the ninth annual Screw City Beer Fest.
Attendees were able to sit up ales, IPAs and stouts from 50 different breweries.
Organizers say the event is sold out each year, and this year was the second time the fest was hosted on the Rock River.
It’s a change of scenery that was necessary.
“More room to spread out, a little more greenery,” said Aaron Slager, founder of Screw City Beer Fest. “But it’s kind of the best of both worlds and being able to keep it downtown and still make that change was really important for us to do.”
