Tour De North End invites bikers to explore Rockford’s North side

Local News

ROCKFORD (WTVO) – Despite the heat hundreds of bikers hit the streets in Rockford for Tour De North End.

Tour De North End invites all hard core cyclists and leisurely riders alike to take a ride down North Main. The bike ride is aimed at giving people a glimpse of all the businesses the north end of town has to offer. Riders are also encouraged to go in more than fifteen different stops a long the way to cool off from the heat, grab a drink, and collect passport stamps, all at your own pace.

“So there’s no minimum, no maximum of number of places you can go. If you want to just hang out at Mulligan’s or the Olympic tavern all day you’re more than welcome to do that. Most people try and hit the most stops that they can, the more stops you hit the more tickets you get to throw in the bucket to tin prizes at the end”, said Olympic Tavern’s manager, Zak Rotello.

This is the 9th year the Tour De North End has taken over the streets on North Main.
