JANESVILLE, Wis. (WTVO) — A car hit and killed a motorcyclist after failing to slow down when driving toward traffic in Janesville Monday afternoon.

Rock County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a traffic crash on Hwy 14 at Hackbarth Road at 3:57 p.m.

Several vehicles were driving eastbound on Hwy 14 and began to slow down for a vehicle turning onto North West River Drive.

36-year-old Gerald Field failed to slow down and hit a Harley Davidson, which was operated by a 68-year-old Janesville man.

The 68-year-old Janesville man was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Police say Field may have fallen asleep prior to the crash. Field will be cited for Inattentive Driving.
