Two suspects wanted for murder of Freeport man

FREEPORT, Ill. (WTVO) — Freeport Police have issued arrest warrants for Javian Adams, 23, and Jennifer Adams, 41, in connection with the beating death of 45-year-old Thomas Fort.

On Wednesday, June 5th, Fort’s body was discovered in the 500 block of E. Iroquois Street. During the investigation, detectives learned that Fort had been physically assaulted in the 600 block of W. Stephenson Street and was moved to where he was found dead.

According to the coroner, an autopsy revealed that Fort suffered numerous facial injuries, including a severely fractured mandible, but the exact cause of death has yet to be determined.

On Thursday, police issued arrest warrants for Adams and Adams. They are currently at large.

Javian Adams is charged with three counts of First Degree Murder, Aggravated Battery, and Concealment of a Homicidal Death.

Jennifer Adams is charged with Concealment of a Homicidal Death and Obstructing Justice.

Both Adamses were on parole from the Illinois Department of Corrections at the time of the murder.
