Two teens charged with Sterling drive-by shooting

STERLING, Ill. (WTVO) — 18-year-old Cole Cassioppi and an unidentified 17-year-old boy were arrested in Tennessee after allegedly conducting a drive-by shooting in Sterling.

Sterling Police say the shooting occurred in the 500 block of Woodburn Avenue around 11:58 p.m. on Thursday, December 12th.

The house was occupied at the time of the shooting, police say, but no one was injured.

Cassioppi and the juvenile were detained and arrested in Kimball, Tennessee on Tuesday, December 17th for an unrelated offense, according to authorities.

Cassioppi is charged with Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, and Reckless Discharge of a Firearm.

The juvenile is wanted for a violation of probation.

Police say Cassioppi is behind held at the Marion County Jail and the juvenile is being held by Marion County THR, both located in Jasper, Tennessee.
