Wisconsin Senate passes four abortion bills

Local News

Wis. (WTVO) — Wisconsin’s Republican controlled Senate passes four abortion bills.

The newly elected Democratic Governor Tony Evers says he’ll veto the measures.

Republicans do not have enough votes to override the vetoes.

One bill imposes criminal penalties on doctors who fail to give medical care to babies born alive during an abortion.

Republicans say no one should object to saving the lives of children no matter the circumstance.

Democrats argue laws already cover that situation.
