STERLING (WTVO) — The Sterling Police Department arrested Kelly L. Mewhirter, 42, of Sterling for setting a fire.

The Sterling Fire Department responded to the structure fire around 5 a.m. Monday morning. No one was hurt.

Mewhirter was taken to the Whiteside County Jail after being arrested for residential arson, criminal damage to property and reckless conduct.
