Rockford, Ill. (WTVO) — UPDATED: Illinois State Police announced the arrest of Kahlid Holliday, 25, who is accused of opening fire on a Rockford woman and her children while they were driving on I-90.
According to police, the incident happened around 4:14 p.m. near I-90 and Rote Road on October 23rd. Though no one was struck, at least one bullet hit the vehicle, which had children inside at the time.
The 23-year-old woman driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, and police said the three juveniles were uninured.
Police were able to identify Holliday as the suspect. He was arrested on November 22nd in Hennepin County, Minnesota and is awaiting extradition to Illinois on the charges of Attempted First Degree Murder and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm.
