Local Rockford Pastor Weighs In On Trump And Steve Harvey Meeting

Donald Trump and talk show host Steve Harvey met at Trump Tower last Friday to discuss ways in which Harvey and newly elected Secretary of Housing and Development, Dr. Ben Carson, could work on inner city housing developments.

“We’re going to team up and see if we can bring about some positive change in the inner cities, which I felt was my only agenda, and he agreed and he wants to do something,” said Harvey.

Local pastor Melvin Brown from Kingdom Authority Church believed the meeting was only a way for Trump to build his image. “This is all about something for Donald Trump to look good that he got a celebrity beside him,” said Brown.

Harvey told the press that President Obama urged him to talk. He said Trump was interested in what he had to say. “We got to talk you know, President Obama said, ‘you have to sit down and talk’, and I really enjoyed the conversation, he seemed really sincere and he was a genuine person in the meeting,” said Harvey.

U.S. Representative John Lewis has been speaking out against Trump and his Presidency, something Pastor Brown said he stands behind.

“I think the Russians participated in helping this man get elected, and then helped destroy the candidacy of Hillary Clinton,” said Lewis. “If you want to hear somebody that said something positive, is what John Lewis said concerning the Presidency of Donald Trump,” said Pastor Brown.
