The longest running Rockford farmers market has hit its midway point of the season. The Edgebrook Farmers Market has been around for almost 30 years.
There are traditional favorites available, like fruits and vegetables, but also flowers and plants, organic, vegan and gluten-free products, and specially-made breads.
There’s even an on-site brick oven where fresh pizza is baked as shoppers look on.
“It’s the freshest you could probably get your produce, here in the area,” said Kristin Krieger, manager. “You’re supporting local business and local farmers. That’s very important here. Also, you’re going to get varieties of produce here that you just won’t get in a traditional grocery store.”
The Edgebrook Farmers Market runs every Wednesday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Edgebrook Shopping Center, at 1639 N Alpine Road, October 31.
