Two Rockford men playing loud music in their vehicle ends in them both being arrested.

Members of Rockford Police’s Special Operations group were patrolling the 900 block of S. Third Street on Friday when they heard loud music coming from a parked SUV in the street. When they approached the vehicle, one of the occupants fled on foot.

After a brief chase, officers apprehended Donte Young, 29, of Rockford. Authorities learned that he had an active warrant out for his arrest for aggravated domestic battery.

Officers made contact with a second person inside the vehicle, Antwaine Chaney, 30, of Rockford, a previously convicted felon. They also located a loaded handgun inside the SUV, and placed Chaney under arrest.

Young faces charges of aggravated domestic battery and resisting a police officer. Chaney is charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, violation of the firearm owner’s identification card and illegal sound amplification.
