Loves Park man headed to Saipan to oversee recovery efforts after devastating typhoon

A local Red Cross member will deploy to Saipan to help with restoration efforts after a Super Typhoon hit the Mariana Islands.

Harold Cubillo, of Loves Park, is a Disaster Program Officer for the Red Cross of Northwestern Illinois, and will be going to oversee field operations, including sheltering and feeding needs for displaced residents.

Cubillo has been deployed to several local and national disaster relief operations already.

Super Typhoon Yutu became the most powerful tropical cyclone to strike U.S. soil this year.

Cubillo will be deployed for about three weeks.
