One Loves Park woman decided to spread some Christmas joy with a unique approach to a Christmas card.
28-year-old Loves Park resident Sarah Collins says she gets a lot of Christmas cards from her married friends…so she decided to make one of her own.
“They’re really cute and they’re with their families and so I was like, ‘I want to make one of those! I want my friends to have a Christmas card of mine!’ I don’t have kids or a husband or anything, but I do love pizza!” said Collins.
Her adoration for pizza went so far as to buying an Amazon pizza pillow and taking some professional “cheesy” photos with it.
“If you come up with a fun idea then do it,” said Collins.
But little did she know… It would actually go viral after sharing her festive card on social media.
“I kept getting text messages from people that I haven’t talked to in a really long time like, ‘I saw you on the Internet!’ I’ve never seen somebody I know just randomly on the Internet, you know, not on Facebook, and it just blew up and it was crazy,” said Collins.
She’s gotten almost 2000 likes, coverage from the Huffington Post and even shares from celebrities
like Zooey Deschanel.
“I feel like the Internet can be really negative a lot, especially parts of the Internet where you don’t know each other, and it was really positive! I love how so many people loved it and shared it and thought it was positive, so to just have some people smile during this year, which doesn’t really happen a lot,” said Collins.
She says that she’s happy to put a smile on someone’s face this holiday season.
“I just hope that anyone out there, that is maybe having a bad holiday season, can look at my picture and smile and have a good day,” said Collins.
