Macy’s announced Wednesday that they will close 68 stores and cut 3,900 jobs, that includes three stores in Illinois.
The closures are part of the approximately 100 closings announced in August 2016.
The Macy’s located in Cherryvale Mall in Rockford is not on the list of stores slated to close. The stores that will close in Illinois in 2017 are at the following locations:
- Alton Square Mall – Alton, IL
- Stratford Square Mall – Bloomingdale, IL
- Eastland Mall – Bloomington, IL
Of the 68, three closed in 2016, the rest will close this year. Macy’s has 730 total stores.
